We salute the life and career of sultry blonde actress ANGIE DICKINSON (DRESSED TO KILL, RIO BRAVO, OCEAN’S 11, POINT BLANK, THE KILLERS, EVEN COWGIRLS GET THE BLUES and TV’s POLICE WOMAN) with this “so-bad-it’s-great” neo-Southern Gothic thriller directed by famed director JOHN HUSTON’S (THE MALTESE FALCON, THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE, THE AFRICAN QUEEN, THE MISFITS, THE ASPHALT JUNGLE) son, actor DANNY HOUSTON (who’s starred in THE AVIATOR, THE CONSTANT GARDENER and BIG EYES, among others).

In this RIDICULOUSLY over-the-top melodrama (think TENNESSEE WILLIAMS on bad blotter acid), Angie plays a mentally deranged Florida woman who becomes convinced a young, beautiful stranger (played by MIA SARA of LEGEND, FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF and TIMECOP) is her long-lost daughter.

Dickinson’s violent husband (played by a scenery-chewing BURT REYNOLDS in full-on freakazoid mode) knows his wife is nuts, but will stop at nothing to protect his family’s twisted secrets.

So, he kidnaps the girl, holds her captive in their remote compound on the outskirts of the Florida Evergaldes and forces her to be their slave.

Unashamedly sleazy, campy and bizarre, this twisted dud made only – get this – $5,000 (!) at the box office before falling into VHS purgatory.

It’s a true guilty pleasure for bad movie lovers.
