I know you didn't come here to eat at Subway or drink coffee from Starbucks. You could do that at home and save yourself the vacation costs. All of the establishments on this page are restaurants that I myself enjoy, that I've heard good things about from other people, or that I have at least read good reviews of in the local paper. Most of them are in the Historic District, but a few require a short drive (or a long walk).

Located inside the American Legion south of Forsyth Park. The food is so good, you will see Jesus.
The Congress Street Social Club
Owned by my former landlord. A great place for food, live music, and bar fights.
They serve my favorite dessert here, the Savannah Mudd Pie.
Some of the best burgers in town.
A local favorite since 1919, they still make their ice cream themselves.
Over Yonder at Moodright’s Bar
This neighborhood gem is so hidden, it doesn’t even appear on Moodright’s website. But Over Yonder is right there and is getting raves for the quality of its burgers. Read this Savannah Morning News article for more detail.
A “healthy-ish” Soul food- style restaurant. Link is to their Facebook, because they don’t have a website up and running yet.
