For the second time in the PFS’ history, we pay tribute to a legend of bawdy and ribald comedy, the late, great standup comedian and TV and film star REDD FOXX, in the week that marks the anniversary of his birth.

This “Mystery Screening” finds us hosting a rare, public viewing of one of Foxx’s least-known efforts.

The exact title will remain a closely guarded secret until showtime, so fans – and Redd Foxx newbies alike – are encouraged to buy a ticket, take a chance and expose themselves to something unexpected.

This much can be said: while Foxx is mostly known for his X-Rated Las Vegas standup show (which pushed the envelope for foul language and adult subject matter almost as far as it could go), or for his toned-down shtick as curmudgeonly, bigoted California junk dealer Fred G. Sanford on the smash 1970s NBC sitcom SANFORD AND SON, the selection which we’ll show at the Bean showcases a very different side of Foxx’s talent that may come as a surprise to those with only a cursory knowledge of his abilities.

Last year, we screened some rare footage of Foxx’s nightclub comedy act, but this year, it’s a whole different thing entirely.

So, put down that bottle of Champipple, adjust your suspenders, and hustle on down to the Bean for an evening of truly obscure Redd Foxx action!

Until 9PM, the Bean will have special discounts on both Craft Beer and Organic Wine for anyone 21 and older, as well as their usual great selection of award-winning vegetarian cuisine, pastries, desserts and Fair-Trade Coffees and Teas.

We’ll also be raffling off free movie passes and other rare and unusual prizes from the PFS archives before the show.
