The PFS has unearthed a forgotten gem of independent filmmaking from a tumultuous time in our country’s history.

Many years before the box-office hits COMING HOME and THE DEER HUNTER earned Oscars for dramatizing the difficulties faced by U.S. GIs returning to this country after serving time in Vietnam, this forgotten gem tackled the same subject matter head-on with blunt, ugly honesty.

Released to a very small number of theaters (rather amazingly) while U.S. troops were actually still involved in Vietnam, it’s a bold and subversive feature about three PTSD-suffering vets who’ve just arrived back in the states after a harrowing tour of duty in Vietnam, and find themselves in violent conflict while visiting a remote farmhouse owned by the father of one of the trio.

Too intense and controversial for any major movie studio to touch, and went unavailable commercially for decades.

Provocative, thoughtful and frightening, it is truly a time capsule of edgy ’70s indie cinema that will likely surprise viewers with both its dramatic ambition and its unflinching take on the horrors of war and just how those horrors can warp the minds of impressionable soldiers.

It stars the craggy, unforgettable MITCHELL RYAN (LETHAL WEAPON, OF MICE AND MEN, GROSSE POINTE BLANK, TV’s DARK SHADOWS), WILLIAM DEVANE (ROLLING THUNDER, INTERSTELLAR,TV’s KNOTS LANDING) – and in his motion picture debut, MICHAEL MORIARTY (TV’s LAW & ORDER).

Don’t miss what is likely your only chance to see this minor classic of Vietnam-related dramas, fully uncut and on the big screen!

Due to graphic subject matter, this film is recommended for Mature Viewers.

Until 9PM, the Bean will have special discounts on both Craft Beer and Organic Wine for anyone 21 and older, as well as their usual great selection of award-winning vegetarian cuisine, pastries, desserts and Fair-Trade Coffees and Teas.

We’ll also be raffling off some rare DVDs and unusual prizes from the PFS archives before the show.

So, make sure to bring a few extra bucks with you for Raffle Tickets…
