The Story Arts Workshop presents their first Story Slam!

You have three options:

1) Take your best story—the one you usually tell at a party or other social occasion—shine it up and let it fly!

2) If you’ve been with us before at our Story Laboratory events, take your best story so far, shine it up, and let it fly!

3) If you’re completely new to true personal storytelling, take the theme “Your Best Shot,” figure out any number of things that means to you, and compose a story that’s true and happened to you, and tell it live without notes in about 5 minutes.

Here’s how it’ll happen:

If you’ve come to listen, pay $10 at the concessions counter, and make yourself comfortable in the theater.

If you’ve come to tell your story, pay $5 at the concession counter and fill out a Storyteller’s release and entry form, and make yourself comfortable in the theater.

As the show begins, an expert storyteller will get things started. After that we’ll draw names from a hat and hear as many stories as time will allow. A panel of judges will chose an overall Slam Winner. The audience will also choose their favorite story of the night! Glorious prizes will be awarded!

This event is intended for people aged 18 and over.
