The PFS celebrates the 39th anniversary of a little-known monster movie from Hong Kong's famed Shaw Brothers Studios: 1976's The Oily Maniac.
Inspired by (and loosely based on) a strange Malaysian folk legend of a weird, grease-covered, man-like creature that roams the streets at night, this action/horror hybrid was never released in the US. It's the story of a handicapped man who seeks revenge on criminals by using magic to transform himself into an oil-covered superhero with special powers. Sound like your kind of movie? Then it must be! They'll screen the full, uncut, Chinese language version in widescreen with English subtitles.
