“Pygmalion” by George Bernard Shaw

  • Muse Arts Warehouse 703 Louisville Road Savannah, GA, 31401 United States (map)

Savannah’s premier theatre ensemble, The Collective Face presents

PYGMALION by George Bernard Shaw

Professor of phonetics Henry Higgins makes a bet that he can train a bedraggled Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, to pass for a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party by teaching her to assume a veneer of gentility, the most important element of which, he believes, is impeccable speech. The play is a sharp lampoon of the rigid British class system of the day and a commentary on women’s independence.

Pygmalion also serves as the basis for the very popular stage musical and film, My Fair Lady.

The production is directed and designed by David Poole, Collective Face Artistic Director and two time winner of Best Local Director by the readers of Connect Savannah.

Opening night’s performance (Dec. 2) will be immediately followed by a post-show reception with delicious food provided by Joe’s Homemade Cafe, Bakery & Catering.

We are also very happy to continue our “$10 @ 5 Until” Student Rush Program. Students (with valid school or university/college ID) arrive at the box office 15 minutes before curtain for a performance and are placed on the rush list. At 5 minutes before curtain, unclaimed seats will be released with this special ticket price ($10) on a first-come, first-served basis. It should be noted that there is no guarantee of a seat and this would not apply for special matinee performances or sold out performances.

Tickets: $25 general admission; $20 seniors/students/active military

Dec. 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 (Fridays and Saturdays) at 8 p.m.
Dec. 4, 11 and 18 (Sunday matinees) at 3 p.m.
