Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Ludwig van Beethoven
Op. 55 “Eroica”
Our season begins with a collection of orchestral classics, both old and new. The evening opens with Rossini, one of the most celebrated opera composers of all time, and closes with Beethoven’s exciting Symphony No.3 “Eroica.” Elmar Oliveira, the only American violinist to win the Gold Medal at Moscow’s prestigious Tchaikovsky International Competition, joins us in what is sure to become another staple of orchestral repertoire-the world premiere of a violin concerto by renowned composer Richard Sortomme.
