Get your platform shoes and polyester rags out of storage! Savannah Shakes is back with a modern twist on one of Shakespeare's final plays, The Tempest. Set in the Disco 70's swinging club era, with definite nods to the late, great David Bowie, Queen and more, Prospera and her daughter Miranda find themselves exiled from their proper estate, when a twist of fate brings their betrayers within reach. With the help of learned sorcery and her powerful spirit slave Ariel, Prospera conjures the titular tempest to confront those that removed her from power as she seeks to restore the former title and position of power for her and her daughter. Mayhem, backstabbing and drunken hijinks ensue in classic disco nightclub fashion! Feel free to wear your best disco duds! Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8pm (ages 21 and up), and Sunday at 3pm (16 and up), June 30-July 9th. Tickets available soon through the Club One box office website. For reservations or more information, call (912) 421-9585 or email savshakes@gmail.com
