Set in the same suite (719) at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, three middle-age couples face three very different – and often hilarious – challenges to their relationships. Neil Simon is celebrated for his comedic scripts which explore family relationships. The humor of his work is enhanced by sharp contrast with bittersweet drama or pain – in Plaza Suite, the pain of troubled marriages. However, Simon spins his tale with deep compassion for his very real characters – and this is the genius of his humor.
