A slaughterhouse in Budapest is the setting of the strangest love story you may have ever seen. Recognizing their spiritual kinship by accidentally learning they share almost identical but complementary dreams, Maria, a shy and reclusive new quality controller, and her slightly older boss Endre, himself a quiet type, begin to get to know each other, carefully, attempting to make their dreams come true. Tenderly told by director Ildiko Enyedi, this a romance like no other -- lyrical and hypnotic, humorous and violent, a film about the fears and inhibitions associated with opening up to others, and about how exhilarating it can be when you finally do. Alexandra Borbely received Best Actress European Film Award. In Hungarian with English subtitles. 116 minutes.
