Coastal Heritage Society invites the public to attend this year’s Revolutionary Perspectives Lecture Series on Sept. 11th, Sept. 18th, Sept. 25th, and Oct. 2nd. The annual free event series will focus on a wide variety of topics unique to Savannah’s storied past.
Each evening, a short reception will be held in the Savannah History Museum lobby from 6:30 PM -7 PM followed by the lecture in the Savannah History Museum theater from 7 PM - 8 PM.
The third lecture on Sept. 25th will be presented by Mel Galin, PhD whose lecture will be titled “The Birth of American Liberty.” In this lecture, longtime Coastal Heritage Society Trustee and president and CEO of the Institute for Educational Services, Dr. Mel Galin, will explore the storied events of Lexington & Concord at the dawn of the American Revolution, including the events themselves and how they were viewed by Colonial Americans. Mel Galin is a Savannah native with a B.A. from Georgia Tech and both an M.S. and doctorate from Indiana University, where the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) supported his thesis research. He also studied at The American University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The Revolutionary Perspectives Lecture Series is brought to you through the generous support of the Georgia Humanities Council.
