2018 Revolutionary Perspectives Lecture Series

Coastal Heritage Society invites the public to attend this year’s Revolutionary Perspectives Lecture Series on Sept. 11th, Sept. 18th, Sept. 25th, and Oct. 2nd. The annual free event series will focus on a wide variety of topics unique to Savannah’s storied past.

Each evening, a short reception will be held in the Savannah History Museum lobby from 6:30 PM -7 PM followed by the lecture in the Savannah History Museum theater from 7 PM - 8 PM.

Our final lecture on Oct. 2nd will be presented by Patricia Hunt-Hurst, PhD, Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Georgia. Her lecture is titled “Revolution in Fashion: America Makes its own Mark, 1775-1783.” Her presentation will focus on fashion and the events that impacted trends during the Revolutionary War. Patricia Hunt-Hurst is a dress and textile historian. She curated the historic clothing and textiles collection at the University of Georgia for 17 years and taught History of Dress and fashion courses at UGA for 28 years.
