Psychotronic Film Society presents: Franco Nero 78th Birthday Salute - 1971 Giallo "The Fifth Cord"

  • The Sentient Bean 13 East Park Avenue Savannah, GA, 31401 United States (map)

The PFS salutes the life and career of the original "Django" himself, Italian leading man Franco Nero, with a screening of one of his least-known crime thrillers.

The plot: A hard-drinking investigative reporter in Rome is assigned to cover the story of a violent assault, which leads to a weekly series of vicious murders. Before long, the reporter finds himself a target of the unknown killer.

"The Fifth Cord" is a BEAUTIFULLY MADE murder mystery featuring OUTSTANDING CINEMATOGRPAHY by the one and only Vittorio Storaro (famed for his work on such pictures as THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE, APOCALYPSE NOW, LAST TANGO IN PARIS, FOOTPRINTS ON THE MOON, THE LAST EMPEROR, THE SHELTERING SKY) and an original score by the LEGENDARY COMPOSER Ennio Morricone (THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY, DANGER: DIABOLIK, SALO, DAYS OF HEAVEN, JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING, THE HATEFUL EIGHT).

Don't miss this unusual and atmospheric hard-boiled thriller with a plot that will keep you guessing.

Full, award-wining vegetarian and vegan dinner menu available, plus fair-trade coffees and teas and discounts on all craft beer and organic wine during the movie!

Show starts at 8PM / $8 Tix
