Besides being one of the very best drummers in the area, local musician JOSH SAFER (who is best known for playing with such beloved local rock and blues acts as BOTTLES & CANS and GAM) is a sweetheart of a guy.
That's why, when the PFS learned he recently had to have major surgery on his right shoulder that resulted in a hefty medical bill and lengthy recuperation and physical therapy which prevents him from playing gigs for several months (thus depriving him of a significant part of his income), we decided to hold a Special Fundraising Screening in his honor.
On Sunday, December 22 (the night before Chanukkah begins and three days before Christmas), we'll screen a little-known holiday comedy movie that enjoys a small, yet loyal cult following around the world, with all proceeds going directly to Josh and his family to help ease their financial strain while his arm heals.
The exact title of the film we're showing won't be revealed until showtime, so we encourage everyone to take a chance, trust us, and be pleasantly surprised with our oddball selection.
Here's a hint, though: it's one of the only holiday comedies we know of with a plot that revolves around BOTH Christmas AND Chanukkah...
Since Josh is Jewish, we thought this would be a good way to both have a laugh and help him during his recovery.
We'll also hold a Raffle immediately prior to the show, featuring tons of desirable and valuable items, so don't forget to bring a few extra bucks for Raffle Tickets and you just might walk away with a great prize or two!
Full, award-wining vegetarian and vegan dinner menu available, plus fair-trade coffees and teas and discounts on all craft beer and organic wine during the movie.
Bring a friend or two and let's have a big, fun blast while supporting a terrific local musician and a real mensch!
Show starts at 8PM / $10 Tix (cash at the door)
