Led by opera legend SHERRILL MILNES, the Savannah VOICE Festival takes place in the “Hostess City” of Savannah, Georgia. It is a celebration of the classical voice with over 25 performances, including operas, concerts, food and wine events, and masterclasses. Offering music from opera, musical theatre and song, this year’s highlights include Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci, Hoiby’s Bon Appetit!, Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, Portman’s The Little Prince and the premiere of Michael Ching’s one-act opera, The Birthday Clown. The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort is the backdrop for many events as well as historic places around the city.
As part of the Sherrill Milnes VOICE Programs, SVF is a non-profit arts organization that brings classical vocal excellence to the Savannah, Georgia area through a celebration of concerts, events and educational presentations during the month of August and throughout the year. It offers music from opera, musical theatre and popular song.
The Festival and its sister organization, the VOICExperience Foundation, which helps young artists pursue their careers in the performing arts, were founded by opera legend Sherrill Milnes and soprano Maria Zouves. They work together to serve the community by providing the highest level of education and quality performances by talented artists for all to enjoy.
