While long time locals look forward to next year's planned reopening of the Jinx, indie concert promoter Knocked Out Loaded joins forces with premier showcase venue Victory North and online alternative weekly paper the Savannahian to pay homage to that intimate music club's longstanding Halloween tradition: a one-night-only Tribute Band Costume Party featuring many of the city's favorite musicians performing the songs of iconic, beloved bands.
ROCK & ROLL TRICK OR TREAT kicks off Halloween weekend a day early on Thursday, Oct. 27 with full sets of classic tunes from:
'60s/'70s Americana pioneers CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (by members of Damon & The Shitkickers, Bottles and Cans and Whiskey Dick)
Early '80s Australian pop sensations MEN AT WORK (by Isaac Smith and members of Superhorse and the Intracoastal Playboys)
Supremely influential alternative rock legends the PIXIES (by members of the Magic Rocks, Hot Pink Interior, COEDS and City of Lindas)
Before, after and between those live tribute bands, DJ KZL (aka GAM frontman Keith Kozel) will spin eclectic records -- plus there will be a Costume Contest with more than $500 in cool and valuable prizes awarded to the most impressively disguised audience members
For the first-time ever, this celebration is OPEN TO ALL-AGES (those under 18 must have a parent/guardian with them).
