Arthouse Cinema: Licorice Pizza

  • Lucas Theatre 32 Abercorn Street Savannah, GA, 31401 United States (map)

Friday February 25 at 7:00 PM

A humorous and visually hypnotic portrait of unlikely first love, "Licorice Pizza" is the story of Alana Kane (Alana Haim) and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman) growing up, running around, and falling for each other in the San Fernando Valley, 1973.  Written and Directed by heralded filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson ("Boogie Nights," "There Will Be Blood"), this freewheeling coming-of-age drama is a golden, giddy gem of a flick. "With 'Licorice Pizza' Anderson has sifted through a haze of wildly embellished tales and half-forgotten memories — and pieced together something that feels more concrete, more achingly, tangibly real, than just about any American movie this year" (Los Angeles Times).

Tickets are $5 for SCAD card holders; $8 for students, military, and seniors; and $10 for the general public.
