A Special Screening! Southeastern premiere!
In this fresh retelling of the classic coming-of-age story, the son of a small-town politician develops a crush on his openly gay classmate. While his feelings grow and take hold, he begins to be stalked by a mysterious creature and he finds his body and mind under attack. This off-the-wall Southern Gothic revival creatively addresses the dangers of repression, intense familial pressure, and the ways in which attitudes have both stagnated and shifted regarding the LGBTQ+ community in the modern South.
Producer Stephen Stanley, Professor of Film and TV at SCAD and a SCAD graduate, and directors Colby Holt and Sam Probst in attendance.
Featuring Jordan Dow, Pablo Castelblanco (Alaska Daily), David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office), Robyn Lively (Teen Witch, Cobra Kai), and Joe Chrest (Stranger Things).
