Fallen Leaves, a quirky tale of star-crossed lovers, a new film from arguably the most stylistically singular living film director, Finnish master Aki Kaurismäki (Le Havre), is a life-affirming gem about two lonely souls in search of love. They meet by chance in a local karaoke bar, but the pair's path to happiness is beset by numerous obstacles -- from lost numbers to mistaken addresses, alcoholism, and a charming stray dog.
