In All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras weaves together two narratives: the fabled life and career of legendary visual artist and photographer Nan Goldin and the downfall of the Sackler family, the pharmaceutical dynasty Goldin personally took on in her fight to hold them accountable for the deadly opioid epidemic. Narrated by Goldin, this essential, urgent, and enthralling new documentary is illustrated with her archive of mesmerizing photography, a devastating and compassionate portrait that presents art activism in action.
