Hayao Miyazaki's first feature film in 10 years, The Boy and the Heron is an original story written and directed by the Academy Award-winning filmmaker. A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. Returning by popular demand to Savannah after its Southeast premiere at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, this hand-drawn, semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation could only come from the mind of Miyazaki.

This screening is presented in the English dubbed version with voices by Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, and Dave Bautista, among many others.
