From of the creators of the “Murdered by…” and “Christmas in Mistletoe Falls” productions comes an all-new, originally outrageous musical courtroom show, “The People Vs. Broadway!”
Broadway star Hattie LaTone has been murdered and the players in an entirely different kind of drama have assembled in the courtroom. The defendant, Daisy Levi, is accused of the heinous crime. Prosecutor Willie Proveitt is determined to put her behind bars. Defense attorney Sue Diligence is trying to prevent a miscarriage of justice. Judge Judy Gavelstein is not putting up with any guff as she oversees the trial of the century. The bailiff Marsha Law is trying to keep order in the court as a parade of witnesses tells their stories.
What really happened the night of the murder? Is the defendant innocent or guilty? That’s up to the jury to decide and the jury is you! The audience votes at intermission and then we’ll change the ending based on what you decide!
Along the way, you’ll hear the testimony presented in the form of musical numbers, featuring some of the greatest hits of Broadway all sung live including Chicago, Gypsy, Tootsie, Avenue Q, La Cage aux Folles, Kiss Me Kate, Follies, Shucked, Operation Mincemeat, Death Becomes, Her, Wicked, and more ! It’s a toe-tapping trial you don’t want to miss.
There will be four performances: Thursday, February 19 at 7pm; Friday, February 20 at 7pm; Saturday, February 21 at 3pm; and Sunday, February 22 at 3pm. Get your tickets before the judge bangs the gavel on you!
SHOW NOTES: “The People vs. Broadway” contains adult language, simulated violence, and sometimes scantily dressed actors making fools of themselves. Guests must be 21 years of age or older at all performances and the show is for immaturely mature audiences only. Please be aware the theater is on the second floor and is only accessible by stairs; no elevator is available.
TICKET NOTES: Each table seat ticket will be seated at 2-person tables – if you purchase two tickets you will be seated together at one table. If you purchased more than two tickets in the same transaction under the same name, we will make every attempt to assign you to tables near each other. If you are coming with other people and purchased tablet tickets separately and wish to be seated near each other, send us an email at info@savannahcabaret.com after you purchase your tickets and provide us with the names of the parties that are requesting to be seated at adjacent tables and we will do our best to accommodate the request. Parties with uneven numbers of guests (1, 3, 5, etc.) may be combined with other parties at tables so be nice and share the free candy! General admission seating is first come, first served. Please note that a few seats have a partially obscured view of the stage.
