Join us for a staged reading/ excerpts from " Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl" by Harriet Jacobs. Harriet Jacobs ( 1813-1897) chronicled her life as a slave. Written/published in 1861, Jacobs recounts her traumatic life as a slave, her attempts and final success at escape and her years in exile. Featuring Tracy Thompson- Lee, Valarie Grimes , Patricia Rene, and vocalist Jamie Cartwright. This staged reading is presented by Performers for Social Justice founder/ director Bonnie Brault. Event will be presented at Radiant Centet, 2204 Skidaway Rd.
